first, i wanted to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who has supported the one thousand wishes shop. i am still figuring out the total, but it is definitely over our goal of $1000! thank you, thank you, thank you to each + every one of you who donated something, purchased something or helped to spread the word. i'll be working on organizing the shipping of all the items over the next week or so. and will add new items to the shop as they come in. but. please be patient with me if i owe you an email or need to set up a listing or send you shipping info. since the shop opened on friday, we have had a bit of a heart-breaking time with our little bailey-boo. she started being unable to climb on or off her favourite spot on the sofa. then she stopped going up and down the stairs. and now, just three days later, she is very sick. and we have no answers about what could possibly be wrong. on thursday she was bounding through the muddy snow at the park, as happy as could be. stealing food from sam's high chair and curling up next to ella for bedtime stories. and now she is barely able to move. she is scared. and so are we. but. we are trying to be brave for ella + sam. ella is so, so upset that bailey went to the doctors and didn't come home. i think it has brought back memories of what happened to me, just four weeks ago. and sam has been sick for what feels like forever with croup that is just not getting any better. he needs me - us - so much right now. we are muddling through. and will be transferring bailey to a specialized hospital in the morning, where we will hopefully get some answers about our sweet girl. i have been placing the paper cranes i've been folding near her photo, a little wish of healing and hope for her, too. i am committed to continuing with the one thousand wishes project. but i think i need some time to collect myself and take care of my family as we try to get through this difficult time. i hope this is okay. i will be back in a couple of days with photos of all of the wonderful items that have been donated so far as well as links to the participating artists...
